Kersi – a Danish/Indian business adventure

My Story

An immigrant who understands the danish corporate  culture and society Kersi was born in Mumbai in 1948 as part of the Parsi community. But a traumatic divorce between his parents meant that the three siblings ended up at boarding school – without funds – which was a great humiliation and sadness.

Kersi fended for himself and fled to Denmark as soon as he reached the age of 18. The Indian consul in Denmark took him under his wing and helped Kersi to an apprenticeship and access to Danish society.

A Business Adventure

Having started an education at college in Mumbai, Kersi continued his studies in Denmark – first as a business economist and then he took an accounting and finance exam at CBS. Later, his many, challenging jobs required him to train e.g. to American accountant.
From starting as a bellboy at the Royal Hotel while he was a student, Kersi had a rapid career up through the hotel world and in 1984 became director of the SAS hotels in Denmark and Norway. He ended his business career as Nordic Business Controller for ExxonMobil.
As one of the world’s most highly regarded experts in Corporate Governance, Compliance, Cybercrime and GDPR, Kersi is today self-employed, has an office at DTU in Lyngby and travels around the world as a teacher, lecturer and adviser.
The lectures can be humorous, entertaining, informative or completely serious and are aimed at associations, companies, boards, institutions and management networks. The lectures can also be about his exciting life course with many fun and entertaining experiences in Denmark. Kersi has great insight into the philosophy, culture and idiosyncrasies of India and the East.
Kersi’s exciting life path relates to several amusing quirks in the context of Danish society and business.

My Approach

Is based on 5 decades of corporate experience, from the time I was appointed as the finance director at the age of 29, a member of the finance committee of a global American stock-listed group, managing director of SAS Royal Hotel (the world’s first designer hotel by Arne Jacobsen), transformed an old castle into gastronomic wonder, managed and accounted for billions for ExxonMobil and taught corporate governance as a financial guru in 7 universities from Beijing to London.

Be inspired to embrace the wild corporate challenges with an absurd rollercoaster ride to achieve impressive achievements.

The lectures can be humorous, entertaining, informative or completely serious. I have addressed associations, companies, boards, institutions, annual meetings and management networks. The lectures can also be about his exciting life course and many entertaining experiences in Denmark with global insight into the philosophy, culture and idiosyncrasies of the Orient and the world.
